History
Ethylbromazolam has an extremely limited history of human usage. Very little is known about its pharmacological properties, metabolism, and potential toxicity.
It was first detected in Canada by the Toronto Drug Checking Service in November 2024,[6] then in the United Kingdom at WEDINOS in January 2025,[6][7] and has subsequently been detected in New Zealand in March 2025[2] and at CanTEST in April 2025.[3][6]
Pharmacology: The activity and potency of ethylbromazolam has not been explicitly studied; however, due to structural similarity to other designer benzodiazepines such as bromazolam, it is assumed that ethylbromazolam functions by positive allosteric modulation of the GABAA receptor.4
